CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Tournament wasn’t kind to the Bemidji American Legion baseball team this weekend. On Friday, the Centaurs lost 5-0 to Wayzata but managed a late-night, 6-2 win over the St. Cloud Chutes. The schedule forced Bemidji into a quick turnaround on Saturday, where it lost 7-4 to Andover and 8-2 to Maple Grove to close the tournament.
BEMIDJI -- The first line in the water for the Bemidji High School fishing team was more than a year in the making. Members of the team started making waves during the 2017-18 school year when they began working to establish a program. Their efforts have been rewarded this summer with a first-year startup.
BEMIDJI -- Thursday was an opportunity to iron out some kinks for the Bemidji American Legion baseball team. The Centaurs hosted Thief River Falls at the BSU baseball field, where they fell 4-2 before following with a 7-6 win to split an Opening Day doubleheader.
COON RAPIDS -- For the first time in her career, Taylor Offerdahl carded a sub-80 score at state. PAUL -- Bemidji High School senior Jordan Mann finished off her track and field career with her first-ever state finals run on Saturday. Mann ran a 12.67 in the 100-meter dash during the Class AA state meet at Hamline University in St. Paul, which placed her eighth of nine in the championship field.
BEMIDJI -- Despite each earning individual berths, three Bemidji High School golfers will be challenging Minnesota’s best alongside each other this week. Senior Taylor Offerdahl and junior Damaris Berg will represent the BHS girls team at the Class 3A state golf tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11-12, and senior Bjorn Jorgenson will rep the boys squad.
PAUL -- Jordan Mann proved to be one of the fastest girls in Minnesota on Friday. The Bemidji High School senior ran a 12.20 100-meter dash at the Class AA state track and field prelims at Hamline University in St. Paul, and she’ll be back on the track today to race in her first-ever finals.
COLLEGEVILLE -- For the third time in four years, the Bemidji High School baseball team had to watch its opponent celebrate a Section 8-3A championship. The No. 2 seeded Lumberjacks reached Wednesday’s title game with a 9-3 win over top-seeded Alexandria at St. John’s University in Collegeville, but No. 3 seed Little Falls stole the show with an ensuing 3-2 victory and tagged BHS with a runner-up finish.
COLLEGEVILLE -- The offense struck quick as lightning for the Bemidji High School baseball team on Tuesday -- just before the actual lightning struck. The Lumberjacks (13-7) scored eight runs in two innings for an 8-2 win over Fergus Falls in the Section 8-3A Tournament at Saint John’s University in Collegeville. However, inclement weather then postponed the encore against Alexandria to Wednesday, June 5.
