St. Michel Furniture and Floor Covering is relocating to the Pamida building, which has been vacant since the retail store closed in 2012. Furniture store owner Rob St. Michel said the new location is expected to open in August. (Jillian Gandsey | Bemidji Pioneer)

A group of students visiting Bemidji State as part of an American Indian Tour listen to Jim Jones, cultural resource director for the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council. Jones lead a presentation at the site of the former Pamida store in downtown Bemidji. He shared the history of the site, which is known to be a burial ground for at least 22 Dakota people.
