WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD: Bemidji State wraps regular season

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- A couple of Bemidji State track and field program records gained new ownership during the UND Indoor Tune-Up during the team's final regular-season meet Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- A couple of Bemidji State track and field program records gained new ownership during the UND Indoor Tune-Up during the team’s final regular-season meet Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D.

Sophomore Venice Stewart broke her own record in the 200-meter dash while freshman Ryne Prigge set her second program record as a freshman, this time in the 800m run.

Stewart finished first in the 200m dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 24.65 while Prigge took first in the 800m run with a program-record time of 2:16.77. The duo was part of 13 top-five finishes for the Beavers on the day.

Freshman Zoe Christensen also set an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a second-place finish in the shot put. She set a new personal record with a toss of 44 feet, 9 inches.

Bemidji State will next compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships in Mankato, Feb. 22-23.
