GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Bemidji State women’s tennis team fell victim to a 4-1 loss against Minnesota State Moorhead in Grand Forks, N.D. on Friday.
At No. 1 doubles, the BSU duo of Zoe Lindgren and Ariadna Lopez topped Julia Geska and Olivia Keelin 6-3, but Nos. 2 and 3 doubles didn’t fare so favorably for the Beavers.
At No. 2, Rachel Nguyen and Lorissa Yuen topped Breann Walsh and Brooke Mimmack 7-6, while Bemidji native Alexis Konecne paired with Emma Wood to knock off Laney Rutkowski and Hannah Alme 7-5 at No. 3 doubles for the team point.
On the singles side, Alme was the lone Bemidji State victor with a 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 win at No. 3 over Konecne. Geske beat Lindgren 6-3, 6-0 at the top singles spot, while Nguyen bested Lopez 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2.
Keelin defeated Mimmack 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, the last match that finished. With the Dragons having earned the four team points needed to win, the fifth and sixth singles matches were not completed.

Bemidji State falls to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers will look to bounce back at 8:30 a.m. today against U-Mary in Grand Forks.
