BEMIDJI -- Five months removed from the best season in program history, the Bemidji State women's soccer team topped Division I North Dakota 1-0 Monday night in an exhibition at Chet Anderson Stadium.

Melanie Peltier's early strike was the difference, as her goal from distance proved to be the eventual game winner.

Micah Friez is the former sports editor at the Bemidji Pioneer. A native of East Grand Forks, Minn., he worked at the Pioneer from 2015-23 and is a 2018 graduate of Bemidji State University with a degree in Creative and Professional Writing.
