GLYNDON -- The Bemidji High School volleyball team battled until the end, but came up short in a five-set loss at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Tuesday night.

The Lumberjacks (4-3) dropped the first set 25-18 but found themselves one set away from victory after taking sets two and three 25-15 and 25-21. The Rebels (3-1) mounted a comeback of their own by winning 25-18 to tie the match and force a decisive fifth set, where they prevailed 15-9.

Emily Wade led the team with 29 set assists and four aces. Ashley Hofstad posted a team-high 10 kills and Kait Duffy followed with six. Jenna Anderson racked up 17 digs to lead the way, while Wade added 15 and Hofstad 13.

Bemidji will return home for a 7:15 p.m. match against Brainerd on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the BHS Gymnasium.
