BURNSVILLE -- The Bemidji State volleyball team has been selected as one of the winners of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 season. The Beavers posted a team GPA of 3.33 for the year to earn a spot among the 142 NCAA Division II programs cited for the honor.

This is just the second time BSU has won the award since the AVCA began recognizing team academic success in 1992-93.

To be eligible to receive the AVCA Team Academic Award, teams must maintain a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Teams with the top 27 GPAs in each division received the special recognition as an honor roll team.

In addition to BSU, 13 other Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams earned the award.
