PERHAM -- The Bemidji High School volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 sweep over Perham Monday night in Perham. The Lumberjacks won by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-12.
“I thought we did a much better job just staying consistent the first two games,” BHS head coach Alicia Kriens said. “They went on a few runs and we came back. Our third set was by far our best. We played really consistent.”
Taylor Wade led the team with 16 kills, while Ashley Hofstad followed with eight and Kenzie Christiansen with four. Hofstad also had a productive night from the service line, posting three aces. Mikerra Mathews recorded a team-high 27 assists for the offense.
Defensively, Jenna Anderson tallied a team-leading 20 digs, while Hofstad came up with 17 and Mathews with 11. Rumer Flatness made three blocks for the Jacks, and Emily Wade had two.
The Lumberjacks (5-5) will now head to St. Michael-Albertville this weekend to play five matches in a two-day tournament, Sept. 28-29.
