Golfers can begin to hit the links soon as area golf courses are beginning to thaw out from a long winter.
The Bemidji Town and Country Club golf course is set to open for the season at noon on Thursday, April 25.
LongBow Golf Club, north of Walker, will open for play at noon Wednesday, April 24.
Maple Ridge Golf Course, south of Bemidji, plans to open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.
Castle Highlands Golf Course, north of Bemidji, expects to open within the next five to seven days, a club employee said Monday.

Blackduck Municipal Golf Course expects to open around either the first or second week of May.
Attempts to contact other area courses were unsuccessful.
