TRACK AND FIELD: BSU program adds two freshmen
BEMIDJI -- A pair of freshmen will join the incoming recruiting class for the Bemidji State track and field program. Head coach Kevin Kean announced Wednesday the additions of Lexi Becker, from Bigfork High School, and Afrika Hamilton, from Milwaukee Lutheran High School.
Becker, a native of Bigfork, is a multiple Minnesota State High School League North Subsection 7A champion who holds personal bests of 8.44 seconds in the 60-meter dash, 27.84 in the 200m dash, 16 feet, 2.5 inches in the long jump and 32-9.5 in the shot put.
Hamilton, a native of Milwaukee, is a top hurdler in Wisconsin. During the 2017 outdoor season, she was both the Brown Deer Regional Champion and East Troy Sectional Champion in the 100m high hurdles, while also qualifying to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Track and Field Championships. She has personal bests in the high jump (4-4), the 300m intermediate hurdles (53.23), the 200m (27.02) and the 100m high hurdles (15.18).
