BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji State track and field team received academic team awards for its success in the classroom during the 2018-19 school year.

The team earned a spot on the 2019 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic Team list for the second straight season after finishing the year with a cumulative team GPA above 3.00.

The Beavers ended the 2018-19 academic year with a 3.18 GPA to qualify as one of 209 NCAA Division II programs honored by the USTFCCCA. Women’s programs secured 130 of the USTFCCCA’s honors compared to 79 men’s teams.

Adams State was named the Women’s Indoor Scholar Team of the Year while Lincoln University (Mo.) captured the Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year. The top GPA among NCAA DII programs went to Truman State at 3.63.

BSU was one of 13 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference programs to earn a spot on the list.
