KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Bemidji State soccer team is ranked amongst the top 25 nationally for the second consecutive week in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women’s Poll.
After a 1-0 victory over NCAA Division I North Dakota to cap a 3-0-0 week of play, the Beavers moved up to No. 14 in the poll -- an improvement of eight positions from its 2018 poll debut a week ago.
The Sept. 11 poll marks the Beavers’ second appearance in the 2018 national poll and the seventh time in school history following a five-week run in the top 25 to cap the 2017 regular season. This week’s ranking matches a program-best No. 14 from the Oct. 31, 2017 poll.
The Beavers are one of two Northern Sun teams in the top 25 with Minnesota State (2-1-0) coming in at No. 17.
Regionally, the Beavers also jumped into the No. 2 spot in the NCAA Division II Central Region. The top six teams from each region advance to the regional tournament Nov. 9 and 11.
The Central Region is made up of the NSIC, the Mid-America Conference and the Great American Conference.
Bemidji State (4-0-0, 1-0-0 NSIC) returns to conference play at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, with a home match against St. Cloud State at Chet Anderson Stadium.
