TRAP SHOOTING: Bemidji advances to state meet with stellar performance

The Bemidji High School trap shooting team is headed to the state meet.

The Bemidji High School trap shooting team had over 50 members compete on Monday, June 20, at the state qualifier held in Alexandria. Bemidji finished first in its division and third overall in the state, earning the Lumberjacks a spot in the state championship on Friday, June 24, at Prior Lake. Bemidji had an overall score of 485 out of 500.

ALEXANDRIA – The Bemidji High School trap shooting team is headed to the state meet.

The Lumberjacks topped the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League Class 8A Trap Shooting Championship on Monday in Alexandria, posting a combined score of 485. That bested second-place Princeton (483) and third-place Sibley East (482).

BHS finished in third place among all teams at the nine-day event and advanced to the MSHSL State Tournament on Friday at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake. The Jacks trailed only Wayzata (492) and United South Central (486).
