BOYS GOLF: Daman 2nd, Bemidji 3rd as Lumberjacks open Section 8-3A Tournament

The section finals will begin for BHS at 9:20 a.m. on Friday, June 3, back at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids.

PARK RAPIDS -- The Bemidji High School boys golf team is right in the mix after day one of the Section 8-3A Tournament.

The Lumberjacks fired a 29-over-par 317 at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids on Thursday, which has them in third place overall and five strokes off the lead of the two-day event.

Brainerd leads all at 24-over 312, while Alexandria sits second at 28-over through 18 holes.

On the individual leaderboard, Ryan Daman paces all BHS golfers and is tied for second overall with his 4-over round of 76. He’s two back of Alexandria’s Braeden Sladek, who fired a 74 to lead the field by two strokes.

Elsewhere for Bemidji, Carter Fish and Simon Fredrickson are tied for 12th with their 80s, while Nick Yavarow closed the team’s score with an 81 to tie for 17th.

John Loch (44th, 89) and Eli Tuomala (tie for 46th, 91) also competed for the Jacks but didn’t factor into the team score.
