BOYS GOLF: Bemidji bests Moorhead for 2nd win of season in Park Rapids

The Bemidji High School boys golf team earned its second victory of the season on Tuesday in Park Rapids. Facing off against Moorhead in a dual meet held at Headwaters Golf Club, the Lumberjacks carded a collective score of 315, topping the Spuds by two strokes to win the event.

PARK RAPIDS – The Bemidji High School boys golf team earned its second victory of the season on Tuesday in Park Rapids. Facing off against Moorhead in a dual meet held at Headwaters Golf Club, the Lumberjacks carded a collective score of 315, topping the Spuds by two strokes to win the event.

Nick Yavarow had the best individual finish for BHS, posting a 76 to finish four strokes over par. Other scorers for the Jacks included Ryan Daman (tie for third, 78); Carter Fish (fifth, 80) and Simon Fredrickson (sixth, 81).

Eli Tuomala (tie for eighth, 85) and Nick Carlson (11th, 86) also competed for Bemidji.

Moorhead’s Joe Kortan claimed medalist honors with a 1-under-par 71.

The Lumberjacks return to the links for the North-South Invite at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, in Detroit Lakes.
