BOWLING: BHS opens season at Detroit Lakes


DETROIT LAKES -- The Bemidji High School co-ed bowling team opened its North Central West Conference season on Sunday, Sept. 9, at Voyageur Lanes In Detroit Lakes.

In its opening match, Bemidji topped New York Mills 4-1. Jesse Phillips and David Forte led the way with respective fill percentages of 90 and 88.

The team went on to shut out Wadena 5-0 with Dylan Hinners and Elliott Beefor each posting a 90 fill percentage.

The third match was against the hosting Detroit Lakes squad, and Phillips and Hinners had fill rates of 100 to lead the team to a 4-1 win to finish the perfect day.

Bemidji’s next meet is at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 in Wadena.
