It's time to crank some heavy metal.

In this episode of Northland Outdoors, host Chad Koel explains three types of classic spinner baits he typically uses, all from which works best throughout the water columns to which works best in weedy areas.

Koel also explains the types of spinners, the Colorado blade and the willow leaf blade, and which one may work best for you. "The difference being how much water they move, how much flash they give off and how much sound they produce," he says.

Koel's favorite buzzbait? That's the Northland buzzard bait, especially (and only) in white.

He also explains his technique for top-water baits and how bass react to vibration and sound in the water.

One of Chad Koel's favorite spinners is this Colorado blade. "I love that thump that you get with the deep cup Colorado, as it comes through the water and I really think that it draws fish from a long way off," he says.
