Northland Outdoors Forecast: Below average temperatures this weekend

Cold air moves in for the weekend with some spotty showers.

Friday brings in the cold air that will be the theme for this weekend. Winds from the north will bring below average temperatures, as low as the 40s for the Dakotas.

Going into Saturday, temperatures start off cold in the 30s for the morning. By the afternoon most of the region is only in the 40s and 50s which is well below average for late May.

The weekend will mostly consist of overcast skies with chances of spotty showers. The showers will be light and not a washout by any means.

By Sunday we warm up but still below average. Most areas will see highs in the 50s, with parts of South Dakota and western North Dakota getting into the 60s.

What to read next
Rydell National Wildlife Refuge is hosting events for children in the area this summer including an introduction to archery day, a fishing day, and an owl pellet dissection seminar starting on Saturday, July 16.
A week ago was the annual Bemidji Area Take A Kid Fishing event. This event has been going on for over 30 years and is a real treat for the kids and all the volunteers.
