The Minnesota fishing opener kicks off Saturday, May 14, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies across the state.

Temperatures will vary from the 60s in north to the 70s in the southern parts of the state.

Last year at this time, the whole area was in a terrible drought and lake levels were so low that many folks who have cabins or live on area lakes couldn’t get their boats off the lifts. This summer we’ve been blessed with nice rains and high water levels.
