BEMIDJI -- Forcasted rain loomed over Bemidji Speedway on Sunday, June 16, but the threatening skies kept dry for a full night of racing.

Big winners on the night included clean sweeps by Dusty Caspers in the Wissota Pure Stocks, Dean Eggebraaten in the Wissota Midwest Modifieds, Adam Prieve in the Wissota Mod Fours and Conrad Schwinn in the Bemidji Mini Stocks.

Brandon Bahr and Josh Beaulieu were first-time winners in the Wissota Super Stocks and Wissota Modifieds, respectively. Additionally, 14-year-old Brennan Schmidt secured the Wissota Hornet Feature win in just his third-ever race.

Racing at Bemidji Speedway will resume at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23, in all classes.

Wissota Pure Stock Feature

Donahue Wittner led the field of 16 pures to the green flag, but it was Dusty Caspers who powered to the lead in turn one.

Wittner, Jared Miller, Bonnie Farrington and Austin Carlson filled out the top five after one lap. Michael Roth started in the fourth row and worked his way up into fifth, fourth and third on respective laps.

Following a caution on the front straight, it was a duel between Roth, Carlson and Wittner for second before another caution on the back straight sent Wittner to the rear for the restart.

Caspers took the checkered flag for his first feature win of the season and a clean sweep. Roth, Carlson, Kevin Baumgarner and Miller took top five honors.

Wissota Midwest Modified Feature

Brent Foster took the early lead ahead of Brandon Bahr, Alex Johnson, Dean Eggebraaten and Matt Fullerton.

Heavy contact in turn two sent Bahr and Foster sliding, but both saved the spins and kept on track. The contact was all Eggebraaten needed to speed ahead.

Eggebraaten raced out to a large lead before contact on the front straight between Bahr and Skyler Smith brought out another caution flag, which sent Bahr to the back of the field.

Nevertheless, Eggebraaten quickly let everyone know he was out to win, picking up his second feature win and clean sweep. Jeff Reed, Smith, Fullerton and Bahr brought home top-five finishes.

Wissota Super Stock Feature

Tim Carlson started on the pole and Brandon Bahr began outside. Matt Sparby charged hard into the first turn and came out on the back straight in the lead.

Dalton Carlson challenged Sparby, but a spin and caution slowed the race for a restart and sent Sparby tailback.

The race became a four-car battle with several lead changes. Bahr held the advantage while Sparby was challenging side-by-side. Bahr held on to win his first feature in the super stock division. Sparby, Dalton Carlson and Tim Carlson filled out the field.

Wissota Mod Four Feature

Adam Prieve gave a demonstration as to why he’s leading in the national points.

Prieve started in the four row inside. As the green flag waved, he charged hard into turn one and came out down the back straight into the lead.

The first caution flag waved when Dean Shaver lost grip in turn two and spun, sending him tailback for the restart. Preive once again owned the restart, powering out to a big lead over Conrad Schwinn.

Blake Erickson started in the second row before dropping back into the field, but he moved back up through the crowd.

Prieve completed the clean sweep and added to his points lead. Erickson slotted second with Chris Dyrdahl, Fran Hauber and Trevor Voss into the top five.

Wissota Modifieds Feature

A wild mob of mods chased Craig Olson and Doug VanMill at the start of the Wissota Mods.

Olson took the lead with Doyle Erickson racing up from his third-row position for second and Josh Beaulieu from his fourth-row start for third.

Beaulieu saw an opening down low in turns three and four and powered to the lead. He was then on a mission to create a large gap between himself and the field.

Lance Schilling and Tim Jackson moved into the top four behind Beaulieu and Erickson. Erickson tried high and dropped back as Schilling and Jackson once again moved up into second and third respectively.

Beaulieu took the checkered flag and a victory lap around the track celebrating his first win of 2019. Schilling, Jackson, Erickson and Michael MacAdams filled out the top five.

Wissota Hornet Feature

A few weeks ago, in his first night of racing, 14-year-old Brennan Schmidt found the front wall very unforgiving to his new and suddenly destroyed Hornet.

Sunday was a different story, as the young driver started on the pole, raced to the lead and never gave it up.

He was challenged at first by Travis Olafson and later by Jerad Miller, but Schmidt never let up and brought his No. 32 Hornet into Victory Lane.

Miller, Andrew Hanson, Ross Magnuson and Cody Buchanan filled out the top five.

Bemidji Mini Stocks Feature

Rookies Brandon Puschinsky and Jake Geschwill led the field of 10 mini stocks to the green flag with Geschwill taking the lead followed by Billy Foster, John Current, Connor Drewry and Conrad Schwinn.

The race was stopped when the No. 05 car of Travis Seitz went up in flames on the back straight. He was unhurt but finished for the night.

Geschwill controlled the restart as Schwinn raced to the top around several drivers into second. Schwinn was on the move after a caution, and he snuck by new leader John Current for the front spot.

Geschwill dropped back out of contention as Current retook the backup spot. Nic Jessen raced into third with Foster and Drewry coming back for fourth and fifth.

Schwinn collected another win, ending the night before a drop of rain fell on the track.
