Girls 8A

The girls 8A cagers fell at Grand Rapids 24-17 Friday, trailing 15-6 at the half.

Claudia Bellew, Taylor Kane and Kayla Snell each hit 4, Anna Fogarty and Caroline Kuether 2 and Casey Palmer 1.

Kane's six rebounds were high.

It dropped Bemidji to 6-2. Its next start will be at the Pequot Lakes Invitational Feb. 6.

Girls 7A-7B

The seventh grade girls returned to the court this week at Grand Rapids with the A Team bowing 31-19 while the B Team won 35-10.

The A Team remained winless in seven starts, trailing 17-12 at the half.

Katrina Holman hit 7, Megan Serratore 4, Karlie Leif 3, Sarah Glen and Alex Littlewolf 2 and Amber Smith 1.

Alex Greendahl had 7 rebounds and Holman 6

The B Team dominated its game taking a 21-2 lead at the break.

Greendahl hit 9, Bethany Knutson 7, Jessica McKay and Smith 6 and Amayah Littlewolf, Jenna Thompson and Serratore 2.

Greendahl had 7 boards and Littlewolf and Thompson 5. McKay and Knutson were top defenders.

Two days earlier the B Team beat Blackduck 34-18 with Knutson and Serratore netting 10, Greendahl and Tori Koch 6 and Shelby Butterfield 2. Greendahl led the rebounders with 10.

The B Team is now 4-5.

Both teams host Crookston Feb. 5 in their next games.
