KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chris Swenson put a bow on his impressive showing at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship on Saturday.

The Fergus Falls native carded a one-over 72 in his final round at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo., tying for second on the tournament’s individual leaderboard and helping the Bemidji State men’s golf team to third place overall.

Swenson finished with a five-over 218 (76-70-72) to tie Michael Schmitz of Winona State. Fellow Warrior Ben Jasper earned medalist honors with a one-over 214 (72-73-69). As a team, WSU fired an 870, while Concordia-St. Paul snuck into second with an 896 that just beat out BSU’s 901 (300-302-299).

Swenson earned NSIC All-Tournament Team honors for his top-five finish, as well.

Elsewhere for the Beavers, Ian Mackenzie-Olson shot a 72 in the final round for a three-day total of 226 (76-78-72) and 12th place. Tanner Sperling tied for 17th with his score of 229 (72-80-77), Brandon Nelson tied for 21st at 232 (76-78-78) and Brennan Hockman took 39th with a 243 (82-76-85).
