Monique Lamoureux-Kolls scored the go-ahead goal late in the first period and added an insurance goal to give North Dakota a 3-1 victory over Bemidji State in women's Western Collegiate Hockey Association action on Saturday.
Lamoureux-Kolls put UND ahead for good with goal at the 4:13 mark of the first period. Her twin sister, Jocelyne Lamoureux, fed her the pass.
Midway through the first period, Lamoureux-Kolls struck again to give North Dakota a 3-1 lead.
Both teams got off to a hot start, scoring all four goals in the first ten minutes of play.
Josefine Jakobsen put UND up early in the game by picking up her own rebound. Michelle Karvinen and Lamoureux assisted on the goal.

Bemidji State wasted no time evening things up, when Natasha Kostenko scored just over two minutes later after fighting for the puck in front of the net.
Kristin Huber and Kimberly Lieder picked up assists on the play.
The two teams continued to put up shots in the second and third periods, but the goaltenders buckled down and stopped everything thrown at them.
Bemidji State's Zuzana Tomcikova finished the game with 25 saves.
Goaltender Stephanie Ney recorded 23 saves for North Dakota.
All goals came at even strength in a game filled with penalties. Bemidji State went 0-for-9 on the power play and North Dakota went 0-for-7.
Bemidji State hits the ice at home next weekend as it hosts Minnesota-Duluth at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sanford Center.
