WOMEN'S HOCKEY: Passolt tabbed WCHA Forward of the Week
BEMIDJI -- Sophomore Lydia Passolt has been named Western Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week for her three-point performance in the Bemidji State women’s hockey team’s series against Minnesota Duluth last weekend.
Passolt provided the Beavers (8-14-1, 5-8-1-0 WCHA) with two goals and one assist to tie for third in league scoring for the weekend.
The Chanhassen native began the series with her first career two-goal game Friday in a 4-1 win. Passolt scored the game’s first two goals including the eventual game-winning goal in the first period to help extend a program-record home-winning streak to seven games. She later recorded the primary assist to the game’s first goal Saturday to give BSU an early 1-0 lead in an eventual 5-2 loss.
The weekly award is the first in Passolt’s two seasons with Bemidji State.
Passolt and the Beavers will host Minnesota State outdoors near Lake Bemidji’s south shore on Hockey Day Minnesota this Saturday, Jan. 19. The game is slated to begin at 1 p.m. Tickets are still available.
