HOCKEY: Tatro named Steinbach Pistons Player of the Month

STEINBACH, Man. -- The Steinbach Pistons, of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, named Bemidji High School graduate Brady Tatro as the team’s Player of the Month on Sunday, Nov. 4, for September and October.

Now in his second year with the club, Tatro is second in the league with 27 points (13g-14a). Of those points, 24 came in September and October over a span of 16 games.

The forward, who graduated from BHS in 2017, had 19 goals and 18 assists last year and is on his way to surpassing both marks this season.

The Pistons are currently 12-5-1-0 and sit in third place in the MJHL standings with 25 points after a pair of wins over the Opaskwayak Cree Nation Blizzard (7-2) Nov. 3 and the Virden Oil Capitals (3-1) Nov. 4. Tatro had a goal, an assist, seven shots and two penalty minutes against the Blizzard and added a goal, seven shots and four penalty minutes against the Oil Capitals.

The Portage Terriers hold first place in the league with 27 points, followed by the Swan Valley Stampeders with 26.
