GIRLS HOCKEY: BHS season comes to a close

ROSEAU -- The Lumberjacks girls hockey season ended at the hands of the Rams on Saturday, as eighth-seeded Bemidji fell to top-seeded Roseau 4-1 in the Section 8AA quarterfinals at Memorial Arena in Roseau.

Junior forward Maggie Marcotte scored the Jacks’ lone goal to tie the game at 1-1 at the 2:10 mark of the first period, but it was all Roseau (21-5) from there.

The Rams outshot Bemidji (5-21) 54-9, making for a busy 50-save night for BHS freshman goalie Nettie Kimble.

Scoring for Roseau were Ellie Hedlund, Jodi Ostroski, Anika Stoskopf and Gina Wensloff.

The Rams advance to host a semifinal matchup at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, when they will take on Saturday’s winner between the St. Cloud Icebreakers and Sartell-Sauk Rapids.
