GYMNASTICS: Bemidji Aerials compete at state meet

BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji Aerials sent 17 local gymnasts who qualified for the Minnesota state championships to the Twin Cities to compete over the last couple of weekends.

BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji Aerials sent 17 local gymnasts who qualified for the Minnesota state championships to the Twin Cities to compete over the last couple of weekends.

Silver Xcel gymnasts were led by Eliana Ekre with an all-around score of 34.975. She was followed by Mariah Fox (34.925), Amelia Benso (34.75), Adrian Williams (34.475), Ridley Karger (34.275), Dream Davis (34.225), Lola Wesley (34.225), Kiana Ellingson (34.025), Lauren White (33.875), Ava Burk (33.8), Noni Larson (33.55) and Ambrielle Tody (30.35).

Norah Jacobson led the Gold Division by placing first in the state in her age group on the balance beam before finishing her meet with an all-around score of 35.425. Ella Dahl completed the state meet with a 34.525 AA score.

Level 6 gymnasts Kali Allen and Samara Osborn finished with scores of 34.9 and 34.275, respectively. Those marks qualified both girls to the Regional Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which begin Friday, April 5, and run through Sunday, April 7.

Aubrey DeWitt, Bemidji’s lone level 7 gymnast, finished her state meet with a 34.075, hitting the regional mark by .075 to become the third Aerials gymnast to qualify for the meet.

The Regional Championships meet will end the 2019 season for the Aerials.
