GYMNASTICS: Aerials teams compete in Virginia

VIRGINIA - The Bemidji Aerials gymnastics teams competed in the “Dreaming of Rio” competition in Virginia last weekend. JO levels 3-5, and Xcel levels Bronze-Gold participated.
Level 3 competitors included Samara Osborn, who lead her team with a 35.8 points out of 40.0 in the all-around score. Adrianna Underwood scored a 35.45, Emma Mutnansky finished with a 35.35, Taylor Hanks with a 35.2 and Aurora Frank with a 32.95.
The Level 4s took home the second-place team trophy with Alivia Thompson as team leader with a second-place finish on the balance beam and a third-place finish all-around score of a 35.1.
Chloe Workman finished the meet with a 34.5, Aubrey DeWitt with a 34.0, Kali Allen with a 33.95, Nile Fayette completed with a 33.5, Keira Penner with a 32.05 and Regan McCarthy finished the meet with a 31.5.
Makenna Brown and Keana Gulmon competed in level 5, with Brown scoring a 33.4 and Gulmon a 33.2.
In the XCEL Bronze division Maki-Lynn Westerman lead the way with a 37.75 finish. Kasey Stenseth finished with a 35.0, Hayden Pirkl with a 33.25, Kaitlyn Workman with a 32.5 and Kennedy Olson with a 32.0. They took home the second-place team trophy.
Adair Wizner stole first place on the vault and finished with a 35.45 in the XCEL Silver division.
Joining her were Sari Rock finishing with a 35.15, Ridley Karger with a 33.85, Kayli Bush with a 33.7, Abbi Strandlie with a 33.3 and Emily Skime with a 31.00.
XCEL Gold competitors included Kayla DeWitt and Sophie Perreault.
DeWitt finished second on the vault and finished the meet with a 34.65. Perreault landed a third place on the balance beam and finished with a 33.7.
Next for the Aerials is the JO Compulsory (levels 3-5 ) State Meet in Minneapolis on Dec. 12. All of the Gym Bin’s compulsory competitors earned a spot at state this year.
