GIRLS HOCKEY: Lumberjacks fall to defending state champions TRF 4-2

THIEF RIVER FALLS -- The Bemidji High School girl's hockey team dropped its matchup with defending Class A state champion Thief River Falls 4-2 on Tuesday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

THIEF RIVER FALLS - The Bemidji High School girl’s hockey team dropped its matchup with defending Class A state champion Thief River Falls 4-2 on Tuesday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
The Prowlers got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Tessa Jorde, assisted by Madison Poole, at the 14 minute, 28 second mark of the first period.
In the second period, TRF (2-0) added to its lead with goals from Callie Fagerstrom and Kaylee Eskeli to jump out to a 3-0 advantage.
Briana Jorde, a Bemidji State hockey recruit, scored the fourth Prowler goal of the night at the 1:10 mark of the third period.
Bemidji would answer back with a goal from Rachael Holm six minutes later. With assists coming from Madison Schultz and Jacie Lalli, the Lumberjacks finally found the back of the net.
The Lumberjacks scored again with 41 seconds left in regulation, this time on a power play goal from Madison Schultz assisted by Jaimee Nelson.
Bemidji drops to 0-3 on the season, but will look for its first win of the season at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roseau.
