NEW HOPE -- The Bemidji High School girls hockey team lost 3-1 to North St. Paul/Tartan in the seventh place game of the Armstrong Cooper Holiday Classic Tournament on Saturday, finishing the weekend with an 0-3 record.
The Titans (3-10-3) opened the scoring in the second period, but the Lumberjacks quickly responded with a goal of their own to tie the game at 1-1.
Junior forward Maggie Marcotte scored the BHS goal, with assists going to seniors Jacie Lalli and Hannah Eller.
The game went into the third period still knotted at one apiece, but North/Tartan squeaked by with two goals in the third to take the 3-1 win.
The loss brings the Jacks to 2-13 to end the calendar year. They’ll return to begin 2018 by hosting Moorhead on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Bemidji Community Arena.
