BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji High School girls hockey team outscored Brainerd/Little Falls 2-1 in the third period, but the damage had been done as the Flying Warriors had secured a 5-0 lead after two periods and held on for a 6-2 win.
Grace Schulte and Cheyenne Abear led the way for BLF (7-0) with two goals apiece over the course of the first two periods.
The Jacks (1-8) couldn’t find the back of the net until the 10:20 mark of the third period, when Chloe Hasbargen put one past BLF goalie Nicole Schultz for her first career varsity goal.
The Flying Warriors replied with a goal from Gabbie Smith 27 seconds later, and Bemidji junior Maggie Marcotte closed the scoring with a short-handed goal with 2:42 left in the game.
The Jacks lost the shots-on-goal battle 49-10, with BHS goalie Brooklyn Delap coming up with 43 saves on the night.
