THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Thief River Falls senior Tiahna Nicholson sunk 11 inside field goals and all nine of her free throws for 31 points, leading the Prowlers to a 71-62 win over the Bemidji High School girls basketball team Thursday at Lincoln High School.
BHS seniors Kennedy Mills and Ciara Cermak split the team lead with 11 points each for the Jacks (3-6), but the Prowlers (6-4) matched it with Nicholson, along with Kylea Praska and Alexa Rogalla, who posted 10 points apiece.
Cermak and Mackenzie Nicklason had seven and six points, respectively, at the half to keep Bemidji in it with a 42-30 deficit, but the difference would be too much despite outscoring TRF 32-29 in the final 18 minutes.
Following Mills and Cermak, Katie Alto and Macy Flatness each put up nine points, Nicklason added eight and Lindsey Hildenbrand had seven.
The Jacks return to action Wednesday-Thursday, Dec. 27-28 to open their home holiday tournament at Bemidji High School.
