GIRLS BASKETBALL: BHS fields 3 on academic all-state team

BEMIDJI -- A trio of Bemidji High School girls basketball seniors were named to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.

BEMIDJI -- A trio of Bemidji High School girls basketball seniors were named to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.

Allison Beard, Rumer Flatness and Mackenzie Nicklason all earned a spot on the individual list, making up three of the 59 total Class 3A recipients.

Flatness, who scored 1,480 points in her Lumberjack career, is currently ranked No. 1 academically among 315 students in the BHS graduating class, as well.

As a team, Bemidji was also named a Gold Award winner with a 3.801 team grade point average and was one of 73 schools (one of 12 in Class 3A) to meet the 3.75 GPA requirement.
