Fosston boys headed back to state after beating Goodridge-Grygla in 8A final

THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Seth Carlin scored a game-high 19 points to lead Fosston to a 59-47 win over Goodridge-Grygla in the championship game of the Section 8A tournament Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Seth Carlin scored a game-high 19 points to lead Fosston to a 59-47 win over Goodridge-Grygla in the championship game of the Section 8A tournament Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

The Greyhounds came in as the No. 2 seed from the East Subsection, while Goodridge-Grygla, which made a surprise run in the tournament, came as the No. 5 seed from the West Subsection.

Fosston led 28-11 at halftime behind Carlin's nine points in the first half.

Carlin, who had three 3-pointers, entered the game with a 12 points-per-game average.
