SARTELL -- Will Falldorf and the Bemidji High School football team blasted past Sartell-St. Stephen on Friday night.

Falldorf had touchdown runs of 59, 51, 28 and 82 yards on the night, leading the way to a 41-6 torching in Sartell.

“I think he’d tell you a lot of credit has to go to the offensive line because he’s not really getting touched through that first level. And then he’s just outrunning the secondary,” BHS head coach Troy Hendricks said of Falldorf. “He has God-given talent and has worked his tail off to be the best he could be. … He’s pretty special when he gets in space.”

Falldorf finished with 239 yards on nine carries for a 26.6-yard average. Other Lumberjacks shined, too, evidenced by Matt Arel’s two touchdown runs that complemented Falldorf’s flurries.

Arel’s first score came on a 16-yard rush that Falldorf sandwiched with two first-quarter scores of his own.

“We got off to a fast start,” Hendricks said. “You were hoping that it wouldn’t be one of those games that kids didn’t take seriously. I think they took it serious. We had a good week of practice. They went out and performed in the first quarter and made it difficult on Sartell, where, now they had to play catch-up.”

Already with a 21-0 lead into the second quarter, Falldorf piled on from the 28-yard line by winning a footrace to the end zone for his third touchdown.

The score held until the second half, when Falldorf finished his night with an 82-yard touchdown run -- his 12th score of the season -- that put Bemidji ahead 34-0.

The Sabres (0-4) scored early in the fourth quarter off Ethan Torgrimson’s 5-yard rush, but Arel then entered as a backup quarterback and scored on a keeper from the 5.

Isaiah Biehn also intercepted two Sartell-St. Stephen passes in the first half, and Nick Snell picked off another.

With the victory, the Jacks have their first 4-0 start to the season since 2014 and have won nine regular season games in a row.

BHS will also be at home for three of its final four regular season games. The first of the bunch will be homecoming night at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, against St. Cloud Tech at Chet Anderson Stadium.

“We’ll enjoy this one for 48 hours and then start preparing for a very good St. Cloud Tech team,” Hendricks said. “(The game) should be a lot of fun and very entertaining for our fans in Bemidji. We’re just happy we get three out of the next four games at home and look forward to playing at the Chet.”
