CROSS COUNTRY: Beavers compete in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Freshmen Ryne Prigge and Allyna Storms paced the Bemidji State cross country team Saturday afternoon as it competed in the Ron Pynn Classic 5,000-meter run. Prigge and Storms finished as the top two runners for BSU for the second consecutive meet.

Prigge finished 27th among 75 runners with a time of 19:51.5, topping her previous 5K time at the Dragon Twilight by just under one second. Storms ended her run 1:07.5 behind Prigge to finish with a 40th-place time of 20:59.0, setting a new personal record. Freshman Ellen Teiken and sophomore Carissa Decko also set personal records in the 5K run with times of 24:30.8 and 29:37.8, respectively.

Bemidji State will compete in its final event, the Bob Waxlax Invitational, Oct. 19 before the NSIC Championship Nov. 3.
