Craft, Miller lead BTCC at MGA state meet

Katelin Craft and Morgan Miller each shot 44-42-86 to lead the Bemidji Town & Country Club girls golf team during Monday's opening day of the state meet hosted by Pokegama Golf Course in Grand Rapids.

Their scores gave Bemidji a team score of 172. Ironman (Detroit Lakes) was the first-day leader at 148 and Les Bolstad (University of Minnesota) was second at 149.

A distant third was Minnewaska while Rich Spring (St. Cloud) and Chomonix shared fourth at 167. Interlachen shot 170 and The Jewell tied Bemidji at 172.

Trailing the field were Heritage Links at 180 and Lewiston (Virginia) at 184.

Meg Phelps shot 45-44-89 for Bemidji and Hailey Hinners carded a 54-51-105.
