VERMILLION, S.D. -- Bemidji State sophomore Mary Goodwin broke her own program record for the women’s track and field team on Saturday, establishing a new BSU best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USD Early Bird in Vermillion, S.D.
Goodwin finished in 11:35.09 to finish seventh at the meet. The time shattered her previous school record of 11:44.82, set in last season’s conference championship.
As a team, the Beavers tallied seven top-10 finishes, highlighted by a third-place showing from Alaina Hall in the 100-meter dash (12.23).
A trio of Bemidji State members also traveled to the Cougar Open in Morris, where Megan Judge, Anastasia Klein and Olivia Olson swept the top three spots in the pole vault. Judge earned the win with a personal-record leap of 10 feet, 2 inches.
BSU returns to action with the Minnesota State Open & Multi, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 8-9. It overlaps with the St. John’s Invitational, where the Beavers will compete on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10, in Collegeville.
