GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Bemidji State women’s track and field team locked up its first team win of the season on Saturday, topping two Division I challengers and a conference foe at the UND Indoor Tune-Up in Grand Forks, N.D.
The Beavers finished with 95 team points, besting second-place North Dakota’s 84 and third-place North Dakota State’s 70.5. NSIC neighbor Minnesota State Moorhead was fifth with 13 points.
BSU also had four individual wins to boot. Kendra Ekereke won the 200-meter dash in 26.02 seconds, while Maryse Mbenoun won the 400m dash (58.57) and Ryne Prigge the 800m run (2:22.56).
The 4x400 relay team of Rachel Myers, Janice Cole, Skyler Tillery and Mbenoun also claimed victory with a finish of 4:09.66.
Bemidji State set 22 personal records in all and tallied 20 top-five finishes.

Next up for the Beavers is the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25-26, in Mankato.
