WOMEN’S GOLF: Mollie Albrecht cards another top-5 finish for Bemidji State
Mollie Albrecht posted her third top-five finish in as many tournaments on Monday and Tuesday, as the junior paced the Bemidji State women’s golf team at the Golden Bear Classic in Minneapolis.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Mollie Albrecht posted her third top-five finish in as many tournaments on Monday and Tuesday, as the junior paced the Bemidji State women’s golf team at the Golden Bear Classic in Minneapolis.
As a team, BSU placed fourth among five teams with a score of 679 (347-332), beating out Upper Iowa by 33 strokes but falling 81 shots shy of first-place Minnesota State.
Albrecht tallied a two-day score of 149, finishing seven over par and fifth on the individual leaderboard. She shot a 77 on day one and 72 on day two.
Behind her, Katie LeBlanc tied for 19th for the Beavers with a showing of 165 (84-81). Maddy Sawyer (91-91=182), Vaida Behnke (95-88=183) and Savannah Byfuglien (95-97=192) rounded out the team score by respectively placing 25th, 26th and 28th. Izzy Depew also competed as an individual and took 29th (101-100=201).
Jazmine Taylor of Wayne State fired a 1-over 143 (71-72) to win the tournament by two strokes.
Bemidji State will conclude its fall season with the Mustang Invitational, which is set to run Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25, in Marshall.
