ATLANTA -- The Bemidji State women’s basketball team made waves in the classroom in 2021-22, putting the program on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll for the first time since 2008.

The Beavers were announced as an honoree by the WBCA on Wednesday after completing the 2021-22 year with a 3.507 team GPA.

BSU was the seventh-ranked team among Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference programs and one of eight NSIC teams to finish above a 3.0 GPA.

Bemidji State earned “special mention” recognition below the Division II WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll teams. Fort Hays State had the best team GPA at 3.814.

The WBCA began its academic list following the 2001-02 season. This is the second time the Beavers have been selected on the list, adding to their 2007-08 honor as a Top 25 team.
