JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- The Bemidji State women’s cross country team was quick to the finish line on Friday.
Mary Goodwin placed ninth overall in 18:58.0, while Lexi Erickson was 12th in 19:09.3 to give the Beavers a pair of top-15 runners in the 5,000-meter race. They helped BSU secure a third-place score at the seven-team Jimmie Invitational in Jamestown, N.D.
Goodwin also broke another record in the process, this time posting the best 5K time in program history. She beat out Ryne Prigge's previous best by 1.1 seconds.
Bemidji State finished with 82 points as a squad, trailing only U-Mary (20 points) and Northern State (69). Fellow NSIC member Minot State placed fourth with 109 points.
While Goodwin and Erickson had the best times for the Beavers, it was the rest of the pack that helped solidify their score.
