BURNSVILLE -- Bemidji State landed 47 members on the NSIC’s Spring All-Academic Team when the league announced the honors on Thursday. That number includes 26 Beavers who were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.
In all, 848 student-athletes from the Northern Sun were recognized, including 519 who earned Team of Excellence distinction.
Outdoor track and field led BSU’s representation on the list with 19 selections. The softball team followed with 10 selections, while baseball and men’s golf each totaled six honorees. Women’s golf and women’s tennis each had three selections.
To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a grade-point average of 3.20 or better. To be eligible for the Team of Excellence, the GPA must be maintained at a level of 3.60 or higher. Candidates must also be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full year at their school.
