Bemidji State puts 47 student-athletes on Spring NSIC All-Academic Team

Bemidji State landed 47 members on the NSIC’s Spring All-Academic Team when the league announced the honors on Thursday. That number includes 26 Beavers who were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.

BURNSVILLE -- Bemidji State landed 47 members on the NSIC’s Spring All-Academic Team when the league announced the honors on Thursday. That number includes 26 Beavers who were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.

In all, 848 student-athletes from the Northern Sun were recognized, including 519 who earned Team of Excellence distinction.

Outdoor track and field led BSU’s representation on the list with 19 selections. The softball team followed with 10 selections, while baseball and men’s golf each totaled six honorees. Women’s golf and women’s tennis each had three selections.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a grade-point average of 3.20 or better. To be eligible for the Team of Excellence, the GPA must be maintained at a level of 3.60 or higher. Candidates must also be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full year at their school.

Bemidji State’s track and field selections are (with an asterisk donating Team of Excellence honors): Emily Curtice*, Mary Goodwin*, Alaina Hall*, Megan Judge*, Beatrice Kjelland*, Anastasia Klein*, Maryse Mbenoun*, Ryne Prigge*, Rafaela Rafajlovska*, Kirsten Rasmussen*, Amanda Smith*, Abby Syverson*, Faith Beck, Analise Fabre, Natalie Fultz, Lily Johnson, Carol Miller, Emma Realing and Aneesa Tucker.

The softball team’s selections are: Elaina Christiansen*, Kyla Damerow*, Stella Dolan*, Kora Martin*, Lizzie Schwenn*, Jennifer Smith*, Stephanie Ferguson, Ashley Herold, Maddy McCann and Emmarie Yeager.

The baseball team’s selections are: Grant Hartmann*, Carter Simon*, Logan Barrick, Stephane Lagasse, Will Lavin and John Perkins.

The men’s golf team’s selections are: Alex Iverson*, Max Karnik, TJ Raden, Seth Schricker, Jack Southard and Gus Vatnsdal.

The women’s golf team’s selections are: Mollie Albrecht*, Jocelyn Nyblom* and Morgan Sammon.

The women’s tennis team’s selections are: Shaelyn Johnson*, Isabela Nelson*, Laney Rutkowski*.
