Bemidji State adds track and field, cross country commit to 2022 class

Woodbury native Maggie McCarthy is a distance runner at Woodbury High School who will join the Beavers for the 2022-23 season.

BEMIDJI – Bemidji State University track and field and cross country head coach Kevin Kean has announced the third distance runner to commit to the program.

Woodbury native Maggie McCarthy is a distance runner at Woodbury High School who will join the Beavers for the 2022-23 season. She is a two-time team captain and three-time state qualifier.

She holds a personal record of 19:28.28 in the 5,000-meter race and is also a team captain in basketball and lacrosse. McCarthy joins Molly Saboo and Nadia Vaughn as distance runners to commit to Bemidji State for the 2022-23 season.
