Cass Lake-Bena gains section semifinals

Cass Lake-Bena, the top seed from the East sub-section, and No. 2 Fosston will square off 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the REA in the Section 8-A boys basketball semifinals.

In Saturday's quarterfinals CL-B eliminated Blackduck 72-47 and Fosston ousted Red Lake 77-69.

Tuesday's early semifinal sees Goodridge-Grygla facing Fertile Beltrami.

In 8-2A action Saturday, Bagley advanced to the section semifinals with a 73-61 victory over Pequot Lakes.

The Flyers, who were seeded second in the East sub-section, will face top-ranked Crosby-Ironton 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bemidji State. That winner will advance to the section championship game which is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at BSU.
