GRAND RAPIDS -- Ethan Mock tripled Grand Rapids’ offensive output himself Tuesday night, leading the Lumberjacks boys soccer team to a 4-1 road win with a hat trick at Grand Rapids High School.
It wasn’t Mock who scored the Jacks’ first goal, though. Rather, Aspen Galdamez tallied early with an assist to Silas Hess.
Mock then scored two goals before the half, assisted by Logan Mitchell and Hess, before Kameron Jager took the shutout away in the second half with the Thunderhawks’ first and only goal.
To wrap up his hat trick and the game’s scoring, Mock converted a penalty kick for the 4-1 Bemidji win.
The victory lifts Bemidji to a perfect 5-0 record on the season, while Grand Rapids falls to 4-2.
The Lumberjacks are next scheduled to take on Duluth East at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, on the road. The Greyhounds were responsible for one of Bemidji’s three losses last fall, topping the Jacks 2-0 at Chet Anderson Stadium.
