Erin Booth's goal off Kiah Hartung's feed seven minutes into the second half was all the Bemidji girls soccer team needed as the Lumberjacks blanked Crookston 1-0 Monday in Bemidji.

The defense kept the Pirates at bay the entire game and goalie Casey Palmer needed only three saves to toss the shutout.

"The girls played very well, especially in the first half," said Jacks coach Kelly Schoonover. "We had many quality shots but just couldn't finish. The 1-0 score is not a good indicator as to how well we played."

Bemidji improved to 7-9 and will close the regular season Thursday at Detroit Lakes.

Kyle Fodness converted a pass from Austin Kovach with 1:40 remaining in the second overtime period to lift the boys soccer team to a 2-1 win Monday at East Grand Forks.

The home team scored the lone goal of the opening session but Fodness tied the score 14 minutes into the second half when he outraced the goalie to Isak Sommer's feed into the box and connected from 16 yards out.

Monday's victory was Bemidji's 12th of the fall and established a record for most regular-season wins. BHS (12-3-1) closes the season Saturday at Moorhead.

Connor McNallan had 10 saves in the BHS net.
