Josie Spry and Caitlin Blotske each scored hat-tricks and Emily Boyer added another goal as the Bemidji girls soccer team opened its 2011 campaign Friday with a decisive 7-0 victory at Little Falls.
Casey Palmer complimented a sterling team defensive effort by stopping all 13 Flyer shots.
"This was a good first game for us," said BHS coach Kelly Schoonover. "Offensively we were able to attack and overall we played very well as a team."
Spry opened the scoring six minutes into the action when she converted an assist from Maari Stocker.
Boyer connected at the 22-minute mark and Blotske capped the first half scoring with her first goal at 38:00. Erin Booth assisted on the play.

Bemidji dominated the second half as Blotske scored at 49 minutes, Spry at the 69 and 72-minute marks and Blotske again six minutes later.
Booth, Blotske and Boyer each contributed second-half assists.
"We had some scrappy goals, Casey made some fantastic saves and the defenders shined," Schoonover said. "Josie and Caitlin domintated the scoring but Erin (Booth) controlled the play from her center-mid position and everybody was able to make the transition from defense to offense.
"I'm very happy with the way the season started."
The Lumberjacks open their home campaign 1 p.m. today when they host Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at the middle school field.
Bemidji won Friday's junior varsity game 4-0.
