Bemidji State men's basketball: St. Cloud State overpowers Beavers in loss

The Bemidji State men's basketball team stumbled early and was unable to recover in a 107-71 loss to St. Cloud State at BSU Gymnasium Saturday night.

The Bemidji State men's basketball team stumbled early and was unable to recover in a 107-71 loss to St. Cloud State at BSU Gymnasium Saturday night.

The 107 points were the second most points allowed by BSU this season and the most scored by SCSU this season.

The loss marked an end to a losing weekend for the Beavers, which also lost to Concordia-St. Paul Friday night at home and now stand at 7-14 overall and 4-11 in NSIC play.

The Beavers will return to action next weekend on the road and look to snap a four-game losing streak at Minnesota State University, Moorhead on Friday. Saturday's game is at Minnesota-Crookston.

St. Cloud State overpowered BSU early and led 31-14 through the first 10 minutes of the game before BSU cut the deficit to 39-32 with 4:29 remianing in the first half. It was as close as the Beavers would get. SCSU led 50-36 at half.

Seth Haake had 17 points to lead BSU. Patrick Cassidy had 13 and Bryce Tesdahl had 10.

The Huskies had five players reach double figures scoring and were led by Matt Schneck's 19 points. SCSU improved to 18-4 overall and 12-3 in NSIC to hold its lead on second place in the standings.
