BHS now returns home to host Fergus Falls in a dual, starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, at the Bemidji Town and Country Club.
The Bemidji High School senior is a key member of the Lumberjacks’ 4x800-meter relay, one of the boys track and field team’s top contenders for a trip to state this season. And now, he’s decided to pursue speed at the next level by signing to run track and cross country at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz.
The Bemidji High School baseball team’s emerging ace entered a showdown against Brainerd with a 1.11 ERA this season, the best on the Lumberjacks’ pitching staff. But on Tuesday at the BSU baseball field, he leveled up.

The Lumberjacks crowned a pair of champions at the subsection tournament on Tuesday in Sartell, as Matthieu Benhamou won the singles title while John McNallan and Casey Rupp won the doubles title.

The Bemidji High School trap team finished first among 16 teams at the Ninth Annual Lumberjack Invitational held at the Bemidji Trap and Skeet Club on Saturday. The invite was the largest held to date, with 329 participants.
The Lumberjacks hosted the Bemidji Invite on Monday at BHS, where the girls placed second out of 10 scoring teams and the boys tied for fourth out of nine.

The Lumberjacks were seeded eighth with the release of the Section 8-4A Tournament on Saturday, and so they’ll host a single-elimination play-in game against St. Cloud at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 23, at the BHS softball field.
Errors haunted the Bemidji High School softball team on Saturday, as the Lumberjacks committed an unlucky 13 miscues during a doubleheader at Hermantown.
Nick Yavarow paced the Bemidji High School boys golf team on Friday and Saturday, carding an 8-over-par 152 over two days at the North-South Invite in Detroit Lakes.
